The GO Kingfish Swim Club and University of Ottawa have partnered with 'Own the Podium' (OTP) and Swim Ontario to create a high performance regional training centre for swimming and triathlon on the University of Ottawa campus.

Meagan has been a Special Olympics athlete for over 14 years, and this has been her best year yet! At the 2010 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games, Meagan represented Team Ontario brilliantly in the sport of swimming, winning 1 gold and 5 silver medals.

  Ashton Baumann Selected to Pan Am Games Team
Equestrian show jumping legend Ian Millar of Perth was named Tuesday by the Canadian Olympic Committee to his ninth consecutive Pan Am Games team and will lead the Ottawa-Gatineau contingent of 35 athletes in 18 sports. The Pan Am Games, which will feature the top North, Central and South American athletes in 39 sports, will be staged Oct. 14-30 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Ashton Baumann of Ottawa won the gold medal in the men’s 200-metre breaststroke on Sunday at the summer nationals swimming competition, a big boost for the 18- year-old after a tough winter due to illness.

  Liam Veregin earns High Point Award at EOSA
Congratulations to Liam Veregin who earned the High Point Award for 12 year old males at the Eastern Ontario Swimming Championships February 11-13, 2011. Liam also broke two club records in the 50 Backstroke (32.22) and a 16 year old record in the 200 Backstroke (2:27.20).
  Ashton Baumann Swim Ontatio's Athlete of the Month
Swim Ontatio has named Ashton Baumann the Athlete of the Month after his recent Provincial record in the Mens 15-17 yrs 200m breaststroke. The previous Ontario record was held by the late Victor Davis, who set this record in 1982.

  More GO medals at 2010 Ontario Summer Games
Rachael Geiger, Hayley Mills and Lucy Ogilvie, all of Ottawa, and Amanda McCormack of Kingston won the girls' open 4x200-metre freestyle relay as Ottawa swimmers won one gold, three silver and five bronze medals. Geiger also took bronze in the girls' 14-and-under 200-metre freestyle.
  GO Swimmers win medals at 2010 Ontario Summer Games
Ottawa athletes were impressive in and on the water Wednesday, winning 17 of the National Capital's 18 medals as the Ontario Summer Games opened in Sudbury. Sparked by the one-two finish of Eli Wall and triple medallist Mark Asselin of Nepean, and the gold-medal effort of multiple-medal winner Adrian Finn, city swimmers captured three gold, five silver and five bronze medals.

GO Kingfish Swim Club stood out at the 2010 Ontario ParaSport Winter Games this past weekend in Kingston, Ontario. Para athletes from across Ontario came to this multisport event for some exciting competition. There are 14 officially recognized para classifications in the sport of swimming. Effie Corriveau (S7) and Ian Smith (S9) took advantage of this opportunity and proudly represented GO at these Games.
