Highlights from Age Group Nationals - July 21-26, 2010 - Winnipeg
Update - July 21
Age group Nationals are well underway and GO has a strong showing of 16
swimmers attending the meet in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After a couple days
acclimatization to our new surroundings, the team is looking awesome.
This morning our team swam great with many huge best time performances and
we made 3 finals tonight. Tonight GO will be represented in the 100m butterfly
by Ashton Baumann, in the 200m backstroke by Neeley Arnott, and in the 50m
breaststroke by Eli Wall.

Day 1 Finals
Eli Wall wins first medal for GO Kingfish at the 2010 Canadian Age Group
Nationals with a bronze medal performance in the 50m breaststroke with a
time of 31.41. Neeley Arnott finished in 4th place in the 200m backstroke
for 14 with a time of 2:26.0 and Ashton Baumann finished 6th in the boys
17-18 100m butterfly in a time of 57.75. To cap things off for Day 1,
Hayley Miles finished 6th in the girls 15 yr old category for the 1500m
freestyle with a time of 18:14.0.
Day 2 Update
The GO Kingfish swimmers performed very well this morning on Day 2 of the
Age Group Nationals, setting numerous personal best times and improving in their
rankings. We narrowly missed Final swims for today and learned a few valuable
lessons along the way. The team is motivated and excited forsome more good
racing for tomorrow.
Day 3 Update
Another excellent morning for the GO Kingfish! We swam to many more personal
best times and improved rankings.
Tonight we have 4 final swims:
¤ Adrian Finn - 100 breaststroke - 7th
¤ Eli Wall - 100 breaststroke - 3rd
¤ Ashton Baumann - 100 breaststroke - 1st (new GO Kingfish record)
¤ Tabitha Baumann - 800m freestyle - 6th (overall)
It should be an exciting evening of racing!
Day 3 GOlden for GO Kingfish
Day 3 at AG Nationals proved to be quite a day for the team as Ashton Baumann
picked up a Gold medal in the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:03.47. GO Kingfish
swimmers did very well in the breaststroke events with Eli Wall placing 4th and
Adrian Finn placing 8th. In the 800m freestyle, Tabitha Baumann won the bronze
medal in a time of 9:05.0.
Awesome!
Day 4 Update
Another excellent day for the GO Kingfish! Today we saw more personal best times
and excellent swims. In the boys 200m breaststroke we had 3 final swims from GO
Kingfish swimmers. Eli Wall placed 4th (15 yrs), Connor Michie placed 6th (16 yrs),
and Ashton Baumann 1st (17-18yrs). Awesome swimming guys!
